EXCAVATION

Excavation begins once the blueprints have been created, the elevation of the pool has been determined, and all requirements have been met. We’ll use heavy equipment to create a form in the shape of the pool approximately 13″ beyond the final waterline. In order to ensure proper drainage, the pool is positioned several inches above the lowest point in the yard.

Complex system of white PVC pipes weaving through dirt trenches.

PLUMBING

We do all of our own plumbing to guarantee the highest level of quality. Our first priority is making sure the water flow and chemistry are perfectly balanced. If not, this can be damaging to the skin and slowly break down the finish of the pool’s interior. We use top of the line materials, and everything is pressure tested and inspected.

Steel frame of entire pool made with rebar.

REINFORCEMENT

A steel frame is built with rebar, and the intersection of each piece of steel is secured with tie wire. Tie wire keeps the steel from moving out of position and restricts the steel from vibrating when gunite is applied. This method helps eliminate voids in the concrete which can weaken the structure. The steel frame for a typical residential pool is created with #4 (1/2″ diameter) rebar.

 GUNITE

Next, we apply a concrete/sand material called gunite. This gives us the ability to mold and sculpt the pool’s base. Once dry, it is incredibly strong. The highly skilled craftsmen that complete this phase will literally sculpt the pool into its final shape.

PLASTER

A plaster coat is applied by hand approximately 3/8″ thick to seal the structure with a watertight finish. The pool is immediately filled with water, and acids are added to cure the plaster. After the filtration system catches up with the water volume, it’s time to jump in!

FINISHED POOL

The finished product is a stunning pool or spa that will provide enjoyment for years to come. We guarantee our work and offer unparalleled service when it comes to maintenance and adding new features. We’d love to talk with you about making your dream pool a reality, so contact us today!
